honestfi's real name is Fiona Messenger and she was born in August 1970. She is probably old enough for other people to think that she should know better, but she thinks she's old enough not to give a stuff what other people think.
The nic honestfi was adopted by her after an MSN Messenger chat when her friend, in a light-hearted fashion naturally, accused her of being less than...erm...honest. honestfi, very honestfi, very very honestfi etc etc. She thinks it looks better in lower case, and written hon est fi looks vaguely Latin, although she doesn't believe that means anything. The nic suits her, actually, as she speaks as she finds, despite the fact that invariably, despite the impossible contortion, her foot ends up in her mouth. That's usually because she doesn't tend to check all the facts first. Her Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator is INTP, which really says it all.
But it isn't all bad. Despite being a bit of a geek, Fi is sensitive, warm and loyal, particularly when writing her own profile.
She first met Angel in Sunbury library in 2003. No, not physically, though that sort of encounter may have been interesting. She found him in the book called Angel Underground and this one book had her hunting for all of the rest of the series, by means fair and...expensive, over the next 5 years.
Now, understand that if Fi likes a book, she reads it at least twice. If she loves the book it may get read half a dozen times over a couple of years. The Angel books quickly attained an astronomical number in terms of the number of times read, and needless to say, she lost count. Albeit that That Angel Look had a shaky start, due to the style in which it was written, it became the number 1 book in her collection, and it was only obtained thanks to an Amazon Marketplace seller.
In 2005, honestfi moved from the Richmond Upon Thames and Spelthorne area, and set up home with her other half in North Wales, for a change of lifestyle; as a result, her blood pressure went down 20 points, which must be a good thing.
In 2006, all but 3 of the Angel series were in her collection, but lo, the first 3 were re-released in the following year, and much joy was found in the Messenger household. It was then that the true geekiness of Fi came out, and she was a bit bored, so she thought about setting up a website for Angel, cos she could find next to bugger all on the net, or even on the streets.
Now Fi is good with computers, but does tend to get a bit lazy, so good intentions of web-building turned into endless games of backgammon on It's Your Turn, occasionally distracted by entering online competitions.
Fi's guardian Angel took a little interest in this and decided, for once, to make something happen. honestfi became the proud owner of some webspace and a web hosting package from Eco Web Hosting. She duly set up thatangellook and started to write. Then got bored very quickly.
The guardian Angel sighed, put down his pint of Young's Special, or whatever he was drinking at the time, and reluctantly left The Cherubim and Seraphim to give Fi a kick up the arse. He hated working for a living, but if he didn't do something soon, he would be out on his ear as he was on a final warning.
Mike Ripley got in touch with Amazon, as he had read her reviews there. Amazon got in touch with Fi, saying, there's this guy who, honest injun, is the author, wanting to get in touch. Fi got in touch. She started writing again. The Angel returned to the bar with the satisfaction of a Job Well Done. He would have had a Hamlet moment, but they've banned smoking there too.
She doesn't know where all this is heading, she just goes with the flow. She writes, she reviews, she tries to make people smile, above all, she tries not to take life too seriously, no matter how many arrows are slung her way.
